REVIEWS
- Two on the Aisle: This is a travelling production and the director Jason Cannon has fully and fruitfully embraced the minimalism required for portability… There are few limits on how the actors use the staffs they carry. They can make sounds, they can be animals and the weapons that kill animals. They can be shelters, fences, and puppets. I think it’s great when the use of simple objects encourages us to fill in the blanks with our imaginations… We saw splendid work from (the cast)… This was an excellent production of a play with an important lesson… A very thoughtfully done piece.
- The RiverFront Times: Middle schoolers make for a tough crowd. They laugh inappropriately, they drop their cell phones and they go “whooo!” every time romantic leads behave romantically. And yet they also watch raptly as Cherokee man Chosen One (Christian Vieira) and his bride, Snow Owl (Ann Ashby), struggle to assimilate the encroaching white culture in 1830s Georgia, and they applaud enthusiastically when the show is done. Director Jason Cannon blends stylized movement and pantomime with some inventive props to great effect, and the cast is uniformly strong.
